Folks, I've been a fervent John Edwards supporter. Why?
* His anti-corporation stand (never mind that a big corporation pays my bills, they've overstepped their bounds and need reining in). * His focus on poverty and helping the working men and women of the country. * His electability. * His essential goodness. So, whither now?
At the present time I don't see, in either Barack or Hillary, the qualities I admired in John.
So, here's my alternative plan.
- Drop out of this disaster they call a Democratic primary
- Focus on making money instead of working for political change
- Nurse my big corporate 401k
- Conclude that David Gergen is right: Democrats ARE cannibals
- Vote for a Republican who will make sure my capital gains are taxed at 0% forever and ever
- Use my capital gains to donate to John Edwards' anti-poverty efforts
- Use my comfy 401k retirement cushion to participate in John's "Habitat" and other working projects.
Can anyone convince me this is not the best thing to do?
